Why Poetry?
“Without language we cease to be human, but with poetry we can talk to the Gods”.
Unknown
I believe that poetry is fundamental to understanding both ourselves and the intricate world in which we live. This art form possesses a distinctive capacity to accomplish two significant feats. Firstly, it grounds us in the authentic experience of being alive — to feel, to lose, to love, to receive, and to give. Secondly, it exhibits a remarkable ability to transport us into another person's existence, allowing us to momentarily walk in their shoes, experiencing the world with fresh ears and eyes. I firmly believe that this newfound perspective serves as a catalyst for our personal growth, transforming us into more enlightened students of life.
“You write in order to change the world”
Stories serve as our introduction to the world, encapsulating our values, dreams, and deepest fears. In this grand narrative of life, poetry emerges as our guiding vehicle, facilitating our navigation through the emotional rollercoaster that defines our journey.
It’s a poetry revolution!

Where the least important thing standing is the mike,
Where politics and love bleed together on the page,

“I last worked with Adisa in 2022-23 when he was project artist at Fulham Palace. His passion for the subject, his vision and his approachable and friendly style stand out for me. In terms of his work with partners, schools, and community groups, he is incredibly engaging, and participants have fun as well as learning new skills and knowledge. I would highly recommend Adisa, he is wonderful to work with.”
